One by one, the key players of Bayer Leverkusen are leaving, following the footsteps of their coach Xabi Alonso. The latest is defender Jonathan Tah.
Tah, who is also a German national team player, has a contract that expires at the end of this summer. And Tah has decided not to renew his contract with Bayer.
As reported by ESPN, Tah has been approached by several European giants, both from Germany and abroad.
“Tah is in advanced talks to join Bayern Munich. His status is a free agent after his contract with Bayer Leverkusen ends this summer,” wrote ESPN.
“The 29-year-old defender confirmed in April that he would leave Bayer after his contract ends on June 30. If an agreement is reached with Bayern, Tah will sign a three-year contract with an option for a one-year extension,” ESPN added.

The arrival of Tah as a free agent is very beneficial for Bavarian club. This is because Die Roten are certain to lose central defender Eric Dier, who is set to join AS Monaco next summer.
In fact, since last summer, Bayern had already been interested in Tah joining them. However, the asking price from Bayer made the Bavarian club back down.
Bayer demanded a buyout fee of EUR 30 million for Tah if Bayern were serious about signing him. But the shrewd Bayern chose to wait a year and get Tah for free.
