Ex-Manchester United Player Becomes Serie A MVP 24-25

Serie A has announced the names of its best players for this season. There are six individual award categories given by the regulator of Italy’s top-tier football competition.
These include the MVP (Most Valuable Player), the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and striker, as well as the best Under-23 player.

On the official Serie A website, the six best individuals of the season have been revealed. Interestingly, no single club dominates the list.
The Serie A MVP for this season is awarded to SSC Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay. In his debut season, the former Manchester United player immediately delivered a title for the Naples-based club.
McTominay also had a productive season. Across all competitions, the ex-Man United scored 13 goals (12 in Serie A and 1 in the Coppa Italia). McTominay bought from United by Napoli on summer 2024. McTominay become United player for 22 years.
In goal, AS Roma’s Mile Svilar was named the best goalkeeper. The Serbian keeper recorded 15 clean sheets in 37 matches.
Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni was recognized as the best defender. This season, Bastoni played in 52 games, and in 24 of those matches, Inter kept a clean sheet.
AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders was crowned the best midfielder. The Dutch international was productive both in scoring goals and providing assists. He scored 15 goals and provided 5 assists for Milan across all competitions.
Atalanta BC’s Mateo Retegui, who was also the top scorer in Serie A, was named the best forward. Retegui scored 25 goals in Serie A and three goals in the Champions League.
The best young player or best Under-23 player award went to Como 1907’s Nico Paz. The former Real Madrid player scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists for Como 1907 this season.
